Spotlight on Yoni Asido (FYHS '19)

Tehilla Kanter

Updated: Jan 17

Where do you live:

I live in Israel.

Occupation (outside of the army):

Private Security.

Where are you serving in the IDF and in which Unit:

I'm currently serving in צנחנים paratroopers.

What gives you chizuk during your army service:

What gave me chizuk personally was seeing all the davening and prayers that the students in Skokie Yeshiva were saying for Klal Yisrael and especially for us, the soldiers.

Share a few fond memories of your time at the Yeshiva:

On Purim, everyone came dressed up to hear the megilla and we had a big meal and lots of dancing - it was so much fun! Also the fact that everyone in Yeshiva was good friends and you'd just get a great feeling when you'd enter the Yeshiva in the morning and throughout the day.

Anything else you want share?

I want to say thank you so much for your support and for the heartwarming words throughout the war. It gave me a big push to continue what I do on the battlefield!
