Spotlight on Navid Kohanpour (FYHS '01)

Josh Kanter

Graduating Year: 2001

Current Location: Los Angeles, CA

Profession: Program Manager for Google

Tell us a little bit about your family:

I’m married to Miriam and have 4 kids.

What is your favorite memory/(memories) from FYHS/HTC/Kayitz:

Thursday nights were fun because we would sometimes go learn, play ball, and have chulent. It was a great mishmar. I also loved the challenges of Rabbi Twerski's tests. I like telling my kids about our class trip that got cancelled and the epic Torah Bowls. I just loved all the informal activities.

Advice for current students:

I regretted that I didn't go to Israel for the year. I should have taken that GAP year as there is no rush to start life. Take your studies seriously but also give yourself that time to develop in your Judaism.
