Excitement filled the air this past Motzei Shabbos, October 26th, as 60+ alumni and friends gathered for a high-energy evening of flag football at the inaugural "Under the Lights" event, kicking off HTC102. This young alumni gathering brought back the beloved tradition that so many remember from their days at the Yeshiva. The event was held at the Chicago Fire Pitch, a state-of-the-art turf facility owned by the Chicago Fire, providing the perfect backdrop for the action.
After a three-day Yom Tov, alumni arrived to a warm welcome and swag bags filled with dri-fit shirts, winter hats, hand warmers, and more. The players finally stepped onto the pristine turf and the anticipation palpable as they tossed the football around, warming up for the night ahead.
The event kicked off with a group photo, and then the games began! Six competitive teams battled it out to become the first-ever "Under the Lights" champions. After a series of seeding games, the tournament bracket was set. Meanwhile, players enjoyed a delicious Melava Malka in the party room, with pizza, fries, and buffalo cauliflower bites, and more, keeping everyone fueled throughout the night.
After a few intense rounds of play, the Schuman boys clinched the first-ever championship title. The event was a resounding success, setting the stage for an even bigger and better tournament next year. Stay tuned!
