Spotlight on Zevy Reich (FYHS '97)

Josh Kanter

Updated: 4 days ago

Graduating Year: 1997

Current Location: Ramat Beit Shemesh

Profession: I work in Accounting and have been at the Tel Aviv office of KPMG for almost 20 years.

Tell us a little bit about your family:

I'm married to Brie, and we have 6 kids. My oldest son is serving in the IDF in tanks and has been fighting, on and off, in Gaza since October. My 2nd son is drafting to the IDF soon, and the other kids are still in school.

What is your favorite memory/(memories) from FYHS/HTC/Kayitz:

My favorite memories from HS include intramural basketball and softball, our junior class shabbaton at Camp Moshava, and our classic, unforgettable senior trip to Northern California. I also learned in the Beis Midrash where I loved learning by Rabbi Sussman. I still feel connected to him to this day even if we don't regularly speak.

Please share a lesson/takeaway from your time at FYHS/HTC/Kayitz:

I have very warm feelings about HTC and it always felt very homey. There was a feeling of family, particularly around the special Rosh Chodesh meals and the emphasis on having birthday cakes on peoples' birthdays.

Advice for current students:

Ask Rabbi Polstein to plan your class trips!
