We are thrilled to congratulate our exceptional students for being named finalists in the prestigious Young Jewish Innovators Challenge (YJIC)! Benny Halpert, Ezra Trilisky, Ezzie Lebedinsky, Akiva Samberg, Aharon Zisook, Akiva Bereliani, and Doni Goldstein have spent the past several months honing their creativity, developing innovative solutions, and exploring cutting-edge biotech labs across Chicago.
The YJIC is an elite program designed for 9th and 10th-grade students, challenging them to think critically and apply problem-solving skills to real-world issues impacting the Jewish community. Participants engaged in a rigorous process that included team-based workshops at Walder Science, independent research assignments, and exclusive field trips to leading innovation hubs like Portal Innovations and Beyond Design Studio. They also had the opportunity to learn from industry experts, including Dr. Levi Bennish, a biomedical scientist at ClostraBio, and Rabbi Ortner from ZMAN Technologies, who specializes in halachic technological solutions.
Last night, these talented students were honored at the YJIC’s Evening of Innovation, a culminating event that showcased their groundbreaking ideas and celebrated their achievements. The finalists presented their projects, demonstrating how innovation and Torah values intersect to create meaningful advancements.
The Young Jewish Innovators Challenge is more than a competition—it’s a launching pad for the next generation of Jewish leaders, thinkers, and problem-solvers. We are incredibly proud of our finalists and look forward to seeing how their ingenuity will continue to impact the world.
Congratulations to all!
